There Is No Separation Except in Our Own Mind
Welcome to the September edition of the Tabaash Newsletter. As we transition into a new season, it's a wonderful time to reflect on the interconnectedness of all things. This month's theme, "There Is No Separation Except in Our Own Mind," invites us to explore how our perceptions shape our experiences and relationships.
As we consider the idea of separation, it's important to recognize how our thoughts can create boundaries where none truly exist. By becoming more mindful of our mental patterns, we can begin to dissolve these barriers and foster a deeper sense of unity within ourselves and with others. Our minds of course can play tricks on us by hooking onto perceptions that take us away from being the centrifugal force of our existence and replace that with realities that are outside of ourselves. Our minds are very good at convincing ourselves that the outside is real and we should follow that. I recently came across a quote that struck a note in me; Is our personality running our personal reality or is our personal reality running our personality? The implications of that statement touched my inner self to such a degree I had one of those “of course” moments when total common sense knocked on the door and came to visit! I decided to let common sense stay awhile as I considered this statement.
Our Personality:
Each life that we live is made up of layers of our experiences. This comprises literally of all thoughts, words and deeds from every life we have ever led. When we once again make the choice to reincarnate, we have the energy of these experiences to draw from. It’s rather like a memory bank that we are making a withdraw from. The stage is then set for another entry into life with the new personality that we have established. It's worth noting that influences from parents, upbringing, and similar factors are still included in the agreement you've made. When considering that you are the central force from which everything originates, there are essentially no external influences.
When we pause to examine our personality, we start to see how it is shaped by repeated thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that become familiar over time. These patterns can act as filters, coloring the way we interpret events and interact with the world around us. By bringing awareness to these tendencies, we open up the possibility of consciously choosing how we wish to respond, rather than simply reacting out of habit. Through our life we are constantly changing our personality very consciously through our awareness of ourselves. Other times events of our lives make us question our personality and how it is supporting us or conversely not. And of course, there are the times when we are literally forced to make a change dues to circumstances.
What we perceive as external circumstances may therefore be reflections of the inner patterns we carry and the choices we continue to make. When we recognize ourselves as the central force of our experience, we can begin to respond with greater awareness rather than allowing old perceptions to define our reality.
Personal Reality
Our personal reality is shaped by the meaning we give to our experiences. When we recognize that our perceptions are not fixed, we create space to question old assumptions, release limiting patterns, and choose responses that are more aligned with who we are becoming.
From this perspective, connection is always available beneath the surface of perceived difference. Greater self-awareness helps us see our commonality with others and the world. Conscious awareness of how we are establishing our personal realities gives us access to the qualities of our personality forging relationships between versions of ourselves that have a productive collaborative relationship. When we see our personal reality as something that is happening to us as opposed to because of us then we are not engaging with the state of consciousness where we are always the central force.
As we become more conscious of the stories, we tell ourselves, we can begin to distinguish between what is happening and the meaning we have attached to it. This awareness gives us the freedom to choose thoughts and actions that reflect our deeper sense of self, allowing our personal reality to evolve with greater clarity, balance, and purpose. We send this into the space that becomes our personal realty, and we are then supported by the positive power of the stories of our lives.
Sometimes, our experiences disrupt our sense of reality, affecting both our thoughts and bodies, which in turn influences our personalities. The energy of this creates a separation of our sources as we become too “mindful” of the emotions that come with the experience. We then overindulge in the idea of what we are going through and the longer we do this we create a layer of energy that then becomes a part of our personality.
As we move through this month, notice the moments when we feel separate, challenged, or disconnected, and to gently question the perceptions beneath those feelings. This appears to be a prevalent issue for many individuals at present, and we are in an era where it can no longer be overlooked. If you have invited in awareness you realize that you can’t ever overlook anything. Until you pay attention to your own oneness the overlooked aspects of yourself are going to keep finding ways to interfere in your life.
By noticing this process without judgment, we can begin to separate the experience itself from the identity we have built around it. In doing so, we create room to process our emotions, restore balance within ourselves, and choose whether these patterns will continue shaping our personality and personal reality.
I wish you all the greatest of September, we are all going through so much and at times its very hard to deal with the enormity of all our circumstances.
We are all worth it.
Blessings to you all
