Detaching From The Energy Of The Old Worlds

This October newsletter comes to you rather later, but I wanted to wait till I returned from the Tabaash Egypt event before I wrote it.

We all live in/on many worlds. There is the obvious world that we call Earth, our terrestrial home we experience whilst we are incarnate. Throughout our lives, we encounter diverse experiences that engage the mind, body, and spirit while shaping the opportunities we create each day.  These ‘worlds’ are layered with the states of consciousness that are useful to us while we ‘live’ in those worlds. None of these worlds are right or wrong ones as they all serve a purpose and there is a time where there is no longer any need to participate in those worlds and one must detach oneself from the security of them. We can become very secure in the past and the familiarity of it to such a degree that we rely too much on this familiarity which can hinder our progress.

Returning from Egypt has given me plenty to reflect on, both personally and in relation to the work we are doing through Tabaash. The experience has reinforced how important it is to remain open to change while carrying forward the lessons that still serve us well.

This can be said of us all as we step away from some of the worlds that no longer reflect the best interests of humankind. We must look more consciously of what we are offering up to ourselves and what kind of world we are creating. A country such as Egypt with its thousands of years of experiences seems to be discovering ways of melding the past with the present without losing the essence of its power.

Sometimes, moving forward requires us to acknowledge that a chapter has served its purpose, even when it still feels familiar or comforting. Letting go does not mean rejecting the past; it means releasing our attachment to what can no longer support the person we are becoming or the way a country is developing.

How do we best support our need to step away from the old world to support the new?

One has to remember that that old world energy and its experiences have been essential to our personal advancement.

Only with the benefit of distance can we recognise what those experiences have taught us and decide which parts are still valuable to carry forward. The task now is to honour the old world without allowing it to define the limits of the new one, creating space for greater awareness, choice and possibility.

Perhaps it begins with gratitude: honouring what the old world has taught us while recognising that its lessons need not determine our future. By remaining curious, adaptable and willing to release familiar patterns, we create space for new possibilities to emerge—both within ourselves and in the wider world. All the energy from all the metaphorical worlds, surrounds us. As individuals, we determine how we access this energy. When we create positive connections through compatible energy, we develop a healthy relationship with the world, which ultimately benefits us.

As we make this transition, we can pause to acknowledge what has shaped us, release what has become restrictive, and remain curious about what is emerging. In doing so, we create a more conscious relationship with change—one that allows the wisdom of the past to inform the future without holding it back.

I saw this a great deal in Cairo. It was like the present time, weaving itself carefully through the past without too much disturbance. A new area called New Cairo is being established and is very comparable to affluent areas one would find in any modern city.

A place like Egypt is deeply rooted and built on its history, its culture a very defining part of its future. As souls we are no different. We too have deep roots into our energy history, and we have a culture of higher consciousness that supports our development in all ways.

Yet even amid this transformation, the character of the older city remains present, reminding us that progress does not have to erase identity. And the same can be said of our soul as all of our experiences remain with us. Perhaps this is the balance we are all being invited to discover: allowing the new to emerge while preserving the wisdom, spirit and experiences that give it meaning. Finding ways where we benefit from all the worlds that we are involved in but also recognizing the benefits of detaching from some worlds that have served their purpose.

In this way, moving beyond the old world becomes an act of integration rather than rejection. We carry forward its wisdom, release its limitations, and allow ourselves to participate more consciously in shaping what comes next. And let’s face it, there will always be more worlds to experience!
